Health and wellness coaches recognizes that the client is the expert on their own life and provides respect and unconditional positive regard.
Health and wellness coaches use a variety of learning and communication techniques specifically designed to foster self-discovery and solutions along with accountability and motivation. We honor each client’s life circumstances, strengths, and goals, empowering clients to mobilize their resources and build new ones. The goal of health and wellness coaching is self-management strategies for making sustainable healthy lifestyle changes.
Health and wellness coaches do not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or provide psychotherapy; however, they may provide guidance in areas in which they are licensed and may offer resources from recognized authorities or referrals to other providers.
Health and wellness coaching treatment plans are client driven and may include suggestions from individual clients’ professional health care providers.
